And frankly, I don't think you can consider the federal funding of such abortions "paying for someone else's choices" - the whole thing about rape is that the woman isn't *given* a choice. Ditto a life-endangering pregnancy. Even so, such moralizing is bullshit; abortion is a medical procedure and should be treated as such, so Medicaid should cover *all* types of abortion services. Now if you want to debate whether Medicaid should exist at all, that's a whole other issue, and yet another that I have no interest in engaging in. Re: Obama's rescinding of the Global Gag Rule, this doesn't free up US tax dollars to fund abortion overseas, either; it simply stops punishing/censoring health clinics that also offer abortion services or referrals.
