Josh - the only tax dollars that go towards funding abortion in the US is to those on Medicaid, and only in cases of rape, incest and "life endangerment". And frankly, I don't think you can consider the federal funding of such abortions "paying for someone else's choices" - the whole thing about rape is that the woman isn't *given* a choice. Ditto a life-endangering pregnancy.

Even so, such moralizing is bullshit; abortion is a medical procedure and should be treated as such, so Medicaid should cover *all* types of abortion services. Now if you want to debate whether Medicaid should exist at all, that's a whole other issue, and yet another that I have no interest in engaging in.

Re: Obama's rescinding of the Global Gag Rule, this doesn't free up US tax dollars to fund abortion overseas, either; it simply stops punishing/censoring health clinics that also offer abortion services or referrals. Read the original post.

"Forcing women to carry and birth fetuses, whether they’re 8 weeks or 8 months old"

At 8 months, couldn't they just induce labor, and birth the child as a way of terminating the pregnancy?

Second, why should anyone's tax dollars pay for someone elses choices?

"Either you favor a woman’s right to choose what happens in her own body, or you don’t"

If I favor her responsibility to pay for her choices, does that make me one who'd rather "women remain subservient members of the sex class"

BTW, I am also against medicare covering mens choice to use viagara.
