Daily Show correspondent Samantha Bee takes to the RNC floor to discuss Bristol Palin’s Choice* with Republican convention goers.

The key word being choice – you know, that decision between several alternatives that McCain, Palin & Co. don’t want other women to have?

* A clarification: Like many progressive feminists, I agree with Republican protestations that Bristol Palin’s pregnancy is a private family matter, and should stay that way. However, you don’t get to have it both ways – if y’all are gonna trot out Bristol’s courageous “choice” to have and raise her baby, then we all are gonna call you on your hypocrisy, given that the Republican Party’s platform is actually anti-choice. (“Choice” is in scare quotes because it’s not much of a choice if your family, your religion and your politics don’t allow you to consider any alternatives. If she shares her mother’s opinion on the matter, Bristol’s decision not to abort wasn’t a decision at all – rather, it was a moral mandate.)
